Ragweed Allergy Season in San Antonio

Posted by
There are a lot of great reasons to live in San Antonio. We could go on and on listing them one by one. But the trade off? Many of us have to deal with major allergy issues. And the allergy seasons seem to never stop. Up next? Ragweed. Allergists expect this to be a particularly brutal ragweed season because of the rain we’ve seen recently and the humidity we’re dealing with. So what can you do? Here are a few tips from Elmer’s One Hour Air. If you suffer from really, really bad ragweed allergy issues, you’ll want to stay in as much as possible during days with high pollen counts. Your home’s air conditioning system can actually help here. The cleaner your air filter, the cleaner the air you and your family will breathe. So change those air filters every 2-3 weeks. Also, make sure you’re using the air filters with pleats – not the less expensive filters you often see in stores. Finally, make sure you regularly vacuum and dust. No one likes doing those chores, but they can make a big difference in your ability to breathe! Now that you know a couple of things to do, when does ragweed season end? Unfortunately, not anytime soon. Ragweed will continue to produce pollen until it gets really cold. Here in San Antonio, that’s going to be a while.
